KB Kookmin Bank is launching a currency exchange event for five different currencies from July 20 to August 31, 2026, offering prizes for customers who exchange money via the KB Star Banking app or internet banking, according to a report by the Korea NGO Newspaper.

The promotion targets travelers during the summer vacation season. Eligible participants must use the bank’s digital platforms—specifically KB Star Banking or internet banking—to conduct currency exchanges during the specified window to qualify for the prize draw.

KB Kookmin Bank Currency Exchange Event Details

The event begins on July 20 and runs through the end of August. According to the Korea NGO Newspaper, the bank has selected five specific currencies for this promotion to assist travelers heading abroad during the peak summer months.

Customers are required to perform the exchange through the KB Star Banking mobile application or the bank’s official internet banking portal. Those who complete these transactions are entered into a drawing to receive prizes at Incheon International Airport.

The integration of the prize distribution at Incheon International Airport aligns the financial incentive with the physical point of departure for international travelers.

Digital Banking Integration for Summer Travel

By restricting the event to KB Star Banking and internet banking, the bank is prioritizing its digital ecosystem. This move encourages users to move away from physical branch visits for currency services, streamlining the process for travelers preparing for trips between July and August.

The Korea NGO Newspaper notes that the campaign is specifically designed to coincide with the summer holiday rush, providing a financial incentive for users to utilize the bank’s electronic services over traditional over-the-counter methods.
