Wind Energy Sets Historic Record: Minister Bayraktar Announces

Renewable energy generation in Turkey reached a record high ‌to ​start the new ⁤year.

Wind‌ power generation hit 259,076 MWh on January 3, 2026, setting a new‍ daily record, according to data ⁢released January 10, 2026, by the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Approximately‌ one-quarter of the⁢ electricity generated during the first week of January came from wind sources.

“With our⁢ increasing renewable installed capacity, we ‍are achieving new records every‍ day. We started 2026 with a record as ‍well,” said Minister⁣ of Energy and Natural⁤ Resources alparslan Bayraktar.

The Ministry did not instantly release comparative data for previous years, ⁤but indicated‌ further growth in renewable energy production ​is expected throughout 2026.
