Details of the Traffic Stop
During the stop, an officer observed a plastic bag containing suspected illegal drugs in plain view inside an open purse. Police reports indicate that Maynard attempted to conceal the bag after the officer spotted the substances.
A subsequent search of the purse led to the seizure of approximately 39.5 grams gross weight of a substance believed to be a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine. In addition to the suspected narcotics, officers discovered a handgun inside the purse.
Charges and Legal Status
Following the discovery of the drugs and the firearm, Jill Maynard was taken into custody. She was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
