Details of the Traffic Stop
During the stop, an officer observed a plastic bag containing suspected illegal drugs in plain view inside an open purse. Police reports indicate that Maynard attempted to conceal the bag after the officer spotted the substances.
A subsequent search of the purse led to the seizure of approximately 39.5 grams gross weight of a substance believed to be a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine. In addition to the suspected narcotics, officers discovered a handgun inside the purse.
