WINNIPEG,Manitoba – The Winnipeg Jets defeated the st. louis Blues 5-3 on Sunday, taking a 1-0 lead in their Western Conference quarterfinal series. Simultaneously occurring, the Colorado Avalanche delivered a decisive 5-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on their home ice.

Winnipeg’s triumph was fueled by a three-goal surge in the final period. Kyle Connor and Mark scheifele each contributed a goal and two assists.
