Winona State Women’s Basketball Faces Road Test Before Home Showdown
Winona, Minn. – The Winona State University women’s basketball team is gearing up for a crucial week of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action. The Warriors will hit the road to face the University of Minnesota Duluth on Wednesday,December 18th at 5:30 p.m. before returning home to mccown Gymnasium to take on the University of Minnesota State on Saturday, December 21st.
Winona State enters the week with a 6-5 record, currently placing them ninth in the NSIC standings.Thier most recent outing saw them fall to conference rival Southwest Minnesota State University 93-64. Despite the loss, junior guard Olivia Gamoke continued her strong season, leading the Warriors with 16 points on 46.2% shooting from the field. Gamoke also contributed five rebounds, three assists, adn one steal.
“Olivia has been a consistent force for us this season,” said Head Coach Scott ballard. ”Her ability to score and create opportunities for her teammates is invaluable.”

Minnesota Duluth (4-6, 11th in NSIC): the Bulldogs are led by Mya Moorjani, who averages 14.9 points per game and is a threat both offensively and defensively. Lexi Karge anchors the Bulldogs’ frontcourt, averaging 6.6 rebounds per game.
Minnesota State (9-2, 2nd in NSIC): The Mavericks are a formidable opponent, boasting a 9-2 record and a second-place standing in the NSIC.
