A winter storm brought freezing rain and snow to the southeastern United States on Sunday, causing power outages, school closures and travel disruptions.
More than 130,000 customers were without power in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, according to PowerOutage.us.
in Georgia, crews began treating highways with brine after midnight on Saturday (Sunday AEDT), with 1800 workers on 12-hour shifts, Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner russell McMurry said.
