An extremely dangerous tornado struck northeastern Wisconsin on Monday, July 27, 2026, blackening the midday sky and knocking out power to more than 30,000 homes and businesses, according to the National Weather Service and local emergency officials. The severe storm system, fueled by a buildup of heat and humidity, spawned the confirmed twister near Appleton, Menasha, and Lake Winnebago, approximately 30 miles southwest of Green Bay.
