Wiskind Secures Landmark Contract for Brazil’s First High-Level Veterinary GMP Facility
Table of Contents
Wiskind Cleanroom, a leading global provider of modular cleanroom systems, has announced a notable contract win to build Brazil’s first high-level veterinary Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) benchmark facility. This project marks a major expansion for Wiskind into the South American biomedical sector and solidifies its position as a key player in advanced biopharmaceutical infrastructure.
Pioneering Veterinary Vaccine Production in Brazil
This groundbreaking facility will be a game-changer for veterinary healthcare in Brazil and the wider region. Currently, Brazil lacks a dedicated, high-level GMP-compliant facility for veterinary vaccine production and research. This new complex will address that critical gap, setting a new standard for quality, safety, and innovation.
The project is the result of a strategic partnership with a prominent Brazilian biopharmaceutical company, demonstrating Wiskind’s ability to collaborate with industry leaders and deliver cutting-edge solutions. It’s a win-win, bringing Wiskind’s expertise to Brazil while bolstering the country’s capabilities in animal health.
A state-of-the-Art Facility: Design and Capabilities
The new facility, exceeding 12,000 sqm in construction area, will be comprised of six distinct buildings, each designed for a specific function:
Virus Diagnosis Building: Dedicated to the rapid and accurate identification of viral pathogens.
Virus Workshop: A specialized area for virus propagation and vaccine development.
Bacteria Workshop: Focused on the cultivation and production of bacterial vaccines.
Animal House: A controlled habitat for animal studies and vaccine efficacy testing.
Bacteria Diagnosis Building: Equipped for complete bacterial identification and analysis.
Research and Development Centre: The heart of innovation, driving the development of new veterinary vaccines and diagnostic tools.
A core principle guiding the facility’s design is biosafety. Key operational zones will rigorously comply with ABSL-3 (Animal Biosafety Level 3) standards, adhering to the stringent requirements set by the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Union (EU), and brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA).This commitment to biosafety ensures the highest level of protection for personnel, animals, and the environment.
Advanced Construction Techniques for Accelerated Delivery
Wiskind is employing a forward-thinking construction approach to minimize project timelines. Instead of a phased build, all six buildings will be developed in parallel. This ambitious strategy is made possible through the implementation of Building Data Modelling (BIM) technology.
BIM allows for multi-disciplinary, collaborative construction management, fostering seamless dialog and coordination between all stakeholders. The result? A projected reduction in the traditional construction timeline of over 30%, setting a new benchmark for efficiency in the sector. We understand that time is of the essence, and we’re committed to delivering this vital facility as quickly as possible.
