Wolf ⁤Alice guitarist Joff Oddie has opened up about the inspiration behind the band’s latest single, ⁢”The Sofa,” ⁣from their upcoming album ⁣ The Clearing. In ‍a recent press statement, Oddie described the track as a⁤ reflection on the “polarizing aspects of one’s life when you’re in⁤ a band.”

“It’s also about trying to get to⁤ grips with the polarizing aspects of one’s life when you’re in a band,” Oddie explained.”You’ve just ‍played a huge tour-and you come home, and you have your dinner on the sofa. ‍For me, it’s ⁣summed up in⁢ how I treat TV. I used to never watch the same thing twice because I thought I’ve ⁣got so much to discover! And now I’m like,⁤ It’s OK if I just want to rewatch Peep Show for the 13th time.”

The‍ Clearing ‍Arrives August 22

Wolf Alice’s highly anticipated⁤ follow-up to their 2021 album Blue Weekend is set to release on August 22. The album,which was recently bumped up a week from its original August 29 release date,was crafted with the renowned producer Greg Kurstin.

The British rock quartet has already given fans a⁤ taste of the new⁣ material with the release of their lead single,”Bloom Baby Bloom,” back in May.
