A woman died and another was left unconscious after a taxi driven by a man in his 70s lost control and crashed into a concrete planter in Ngau Tau Kok on May 13, 2026, according to police.
Police reported that the taxi veered onto a pedestrian walkway at approximately 1:50 p.m. On Choi Ha Road near Chun Wah Road. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a concrete planter located in a nearby sitting-out area.
Two women in their 30s were struck by the taxi and left unconscious. The victims were transported separately to United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong and Queen Elizabeth Hospital at King’s Park.
The woman who was taken to United Christian Hospital later died. The second woman remained unconscious at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The taxi driver and his two passengers were also injured in the collision. All three were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
