A large-scale genetic study⁢ has identified ⁢meaningful differences ‍in genetic markers associated with depression between men and women, possibly paving the ‍way for more personalized treatments. The research, ⁤published in Nature ⁢Communications, analyzed the DNA of⁢ nearly 200,000 individuals.

Key⁤ Findings of the Genetic Study

Scientists from ⁤Australia’s Berghofer Medical Research Institute led ‍the study, which is described as one of the largest of its kind. Researchers identified ⁤approximately 13,000 genetic markers linked to⁤ depression in women,compared to around 7,000 markers in men.
