Women in Top Jobs: Hiring Rate Decline
Women’s Leadership Hiring Stalls, Rate flat Since 2020
A new analysis indicates that the advancement of women into leadership positions is facing significant headwinds. The rate at which women are hired into these key roles has decelerated for the third consecutive year, effectively erasing gains made since 2020. This plateau occurs despite women representing nearly half of the global workforce.
The data reveals a persistent disparity: women occupy fewer than one-third of senior positions worldwide. Sue Duke,LinkedIn’s global VP of Public Policy, suggests solutions are needed to reverse this trend and ensure women have equal opportunities to take on a leadership role.
What’s next
Further analysis and potential policy changes are anticipated to address the stalled progress of women in securing leadership positions and to promote gender equality in the workplace.
