Durham suffered another setback, losing to the Birmingham Bears despite Mady villiers’ remarkable, undefeated 85—a career-best in T20 cricket. The England all-rounder’s efforts ultimately weren’t enough to secure a win.
Durham’s choice to bat first after winning the toss quickly backfired when Issy Wong clean bowled former New Zealand captain Suzie Bates for a duck.Wong soon claimed her second wicket, dismissing Leah Dobson for 8. villiers, however, steadied the ship, smashing 11 fours and one six. Support from Hollie armitage, who scored 15, and Bess Heath, with 27, helped Durham post a competitive total.
