Wales, ​Northern Ireland Advance in‍ World ⁢Cup of Darts

Wales⁣ and Northern Ireland both advanced to the semi-finals of the World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt on Sunday.The World cup of Darts ‌saw both teams victorious ⁢in the quarter-final⁣ round.

Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton⁤ of Wales, seeking their⁤ third World​ Cup of Darts title, defeated Hong Kong with an 8-4⁣ victory. The pair averaged 99.66 with three darts.

“We were consistent all the way through,” Price said.⁣ “They put us under some decent pressure at stages. We weren’t at our ultimate⁤ best there but we improved from the last game. Every ⁣game we go through, we’ll improve again and whatever anyone throws at us,‌ we’ll throw a little bit more ⁤back.”

Clayton is ⁣ranked fifth and Price⁣ is ‍ranked 11th in the Professional ​Darts⁢ Corporation’s Order of merit. They are the highest-ranked players remaining ⁢in the World Cup‌ of⁢ Darts field.

Josh Rock and⁣ Daryl Gurney ‍of Northern Ireland defeated the Republic of Ireland,represented by Keane‍ Barry⁤ and Willie O’Connor. Rock and Gurney secured an​ 8-5 victory after trailing 5-4.

“It was ​a fantastic game​ and a great‍ advert for Irish ‌darts,” Gurney said. “Big credit to ‍Keane and Willie ⁢- it ‍takes four to make a⁤ great ⁣game.”

What’s next

Wales will face ⁤the Netherlands in ‍the semi-finals. Northern Ireland’s opponent is yet to be ​determined.
