Iowa Hunger Summit to ⁣Feature ‍Meal Packaging Event

The World Food Prize‍ Foundation and Meals From the Heartland are collaborating to host‍ a meal packaging service event during the annual Iowa Hunger Summit. The event, a key initiative to combat food insecurity, will take place ⁤on June 16.

Volunteers ⁢will convene from ⁤2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to assemble more ‍than 35,000 meals. These meals are ‍specifically intended for Iowans struggling with food insecurity,providing crucial support to local communities.

Mashal Husain, ​president ‍of the World Food Prize Foundation, emphasized the event’s​ importance. She said, “This meal-packaging event⁣ is a vital expression of⁢ the‍ Summit’s theme, From the Ground Up. It’s a chance⁣ for⁢ Iowans to⁢ come together and take direct ⁣action ⁣to support our neighbors in need.” The​ Iowa Hunger Summit aims to address food needs from a grassroots level.
