Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are notoriously challenging to detect, a fact highlighted by the Association of Patients with Various Endocrine Tumors (APTED) with their impactful slogan: ”If you don’t suspect them, you don’t detect them.” This message launched the first World cancer and Neuroendocrine Tumor Awareness Day in 2012, an annual event dedicated to raising public and professional awareness, improving information access, and enhancing patient care.
