World of Warcraft retail expansions World of Warcraft: Eclipse and The Last Titan have been officially revealed. Speaking at BlizzCon, World of Warcraft Game Director Ion Hazzikostas confirmed major upcoming milestones for the long-running massively multiplayer online role-playing game. The announcements outline the final chapters of the ongoing Worldsoul Saga alongside a new evergreen game titled World of Warcraft Forever.

World of Warcraft: Eclipse and The Last Titan Timeline

The Worldsoul Saga will conclude with the release of two major upcoming chapters following the earlier rollout of the Midnight expansion in early 2026. According to the sources, World of Warcraft: Eclipse is designated as patch 12.2 and is slated for an early 2027 release. The accompanying promotional trailer for Eclipse depicts the villain Xal’atath reaching the Titans-protected World Core of Azeroth and vowing to merge with the Worldsoul. Following Eclipse, World of Warcraft: The Last Titan will serve as the culmination of more than two decades of narrative development within the franchise. Based on the standard release cadence of an expansion every one and a half years, the sources report that The Last Titan is expected to launch between September and November 2027. A teaser trailer showcased during the event revealed a colossal figure in the snowy peaks of a rebuilt Northrend preparing to fire massive laser beams toward the camera.

World of Warcraft Forever and Additional Content

In addition to the retail expansions, Blizzard introduced World of Warcraft Forever, an evergreen game designed to run alongside WoW Classic and Retail. The sources note that the title remains set in Azeroth while introducing never-before-seen locations, new dungeons, itemization and class overhauls, and fresh race and class combinations. The game introduces the Skyborne race with split class options for the Horde and Alliance, though players have noted that unlocking the race and its starting zone requires a 30 dollar paywall. Blizzard also detailed several patch updates and related franchise offerings during the event. Patch 12.1.5 is scheduled to arrive later in 2026, introducing a 7-million mount and additional in-game content. Furthermore, patch 12.2 will feature a new expansion Remix experience and an alternate game mode. Beyond World of Warcraft, the event showcased Warcraft 3 Reforged with the Forsaken Kingdom add-on, alongside previews for Diablo 5 in 2029 and an open-world StarCraft shooter planned for 2030.
