Jessi miley-Dyer Steps⁣ Down as World⁢ Surf League Commissioner

After more ​than 13 years, Jessi Miley-Dyer is leaving her position as World Surf League⁣ commissioner. The WSL ⁤announced her departure but⁤ did not⁤ name a successor. ⁣Miley-Dyer’s final event will be the upcoming Lexus Trestles Pro.

Miley-Dyer competed on the Championship Tour for six years ‍before transitioning too a leadership⁣ role with the institution in 2011. During ⁢her tenure, she oversaw ​important milestones,⁤ including achieving​ equal prize money for men and women in 2018‍ and combining⁣ the men’s and women’s tours in 2022. Most recently, ⁢she spearheaded the expansion ⁣of​ the‌ women’s Championship Tour field, set to take ⁤effect in 2026. ​In 2021,she​ became Senior Vice President of Tours‍ and Competitions,also managing the reintroduction of the mid-year ⁢cut in 2022 and the addition of the ⁤WSL Finals.

“With the 2025 regular ‌season complete, and our postseason qualification and expanded women’s ⁤field now set, I feel this is the right moment for me to step aside,” Miley-Dyer said. “It’s been⁢ the honor of ​my life to help guide this sport that has given ⁤me‍ so much.” She added that she is proud⁤ of the achievements made in raising the level of competition and breaking ground in ⁣gender ⁤equality.
