Marc Maron Ending “WTF” Podcast After 16 Years
After 16 years and over 1,600 interviews, Marc Maron is bringing his podcast, “WTF with Marc Maron,” to an end this fall. Maron discussed his decision with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show,” citing a need for some downtime.
Maron, along with his producer Brendan McDonald, launched “WTF” in 2009, pioneering the celebrity podcast format. He told Fallon that he and McDonald felt it was time to “enjoy some free time.”
Earlier in June, during an episode with John Mulaney, maron mentioned that he and his team were “tired” but “utterly satisfied” with their work on the podcast. In the early days, Maron recalled, many in the entertainment industry were puzzled by his decision to record a podcast in his garage.
