Prosecutors are also investigating allegations that Ko Wenzhe’s campaign funds were funneled through multiple “endowment funds” to Mu Ke, a public relations company, amounting to NT$13 million. This transfer, allegedly orchestrated by Li Wenzong, has raised suspicions of false reporting and misappropriation of political donations.
The scope of the investigation has broadened to encompass potential bribery by Weijin Group Chairman Shen Qingjing, who is suspected of using political donations to influence Kuomintang candidates in the 2022 nine-in-one general elections.
