WV Guard 130th Airlift Wing CBRN Members Recognized

Eleven members of the West Virginia Guard’s 130th Airlift Wing’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and high-yield explosive enhanced response force package recently completed intensive training for complex trauma response. The specialized airmen participated in rigorous exercises designed to test their readiness for large-scale disaster scenarios and multi-casualty incidents.

Specialized Training Focuses on Complex Trauma

The training operations targeted advanced medical response and extraction techniques specific to hazardous materials and blast environments. Personnel assigned to the 130th Airlift Wing practiced rapid triage, stabilization, and evacuation protocols under simulated emergency conditions. These exercises ensure unit members maintain proficiency in handling CBRN-related emergencies across the state and region.

Guard leadership emphasized that ongoing preparation remains critical for maintaining operational readiness. The specialized force package trains regularly to coordinate responses with local, state, and federal emergency management partners during critical incidents.
