WWDC 2026: Apple Announces Dates and Expectations

Apple has announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place from June 8 to June 12, 2026. The event will be hosted primarily online and free of charge, though a special in-person event is scheduled at Apple Park on June 8.

The conference will focus on AI advancements, updates for Apple platforms, and the introduction of new software and developer tools. According to a press release issued on March 23, 2026, the event is designed to provide the global developer community with access to Apple engineers and designers, as well as insights into new frameworks and features.

The schedule for June 8 includes two primary broadcasts. The Keynote, which reveals the latest Apple software and technologies, is scheduled for 10 a.m. PT. This will be followed by the Platforms State of the Union at 1 p.m. PT, which provides deeper technical details regarding advancements for apps and games.

Following the initial announcements, the conference will continue online throughout the week. Apple will provide more than 100 video sessions covering design, tools, and technologies. The event will be accessible via the Apple Developer app, the official website, the Apple Developer YouTube channel, and the Apple Developer bilibili channel in China.

To support developers, Apple is integrating several interactive elements into the week. These include group labs featuring live online presentations and Q&A sessions hosted by Apple engineers. The company is offering one-on-one appointments with experts from Apple distribution and marketing teams to help developers maximize their presence on the App Store.

Technical support will also be available through the Apple Developer Forums, where experts will answer questions regarding various tools and technologies. These resources are part of a broader effort to maintain a connection between the company and third-party software developers who create apps for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices.

The announcement of the June dates follows Google I/O 2026, placing Apple’s software roadmap in direct temporal proximity to its primary competitor’s AI and developer reveals.
