WWE Demolition Reveals Improved Relationship
Demolition, the iconic tag team of Bill “Ax” Eadie and Barry “Smash” Darsow, discussed their WWE Hall of Fame prospects and improved relationship with the company during a recent appearance on the Wrestling Life with Ben Veal podcast. The duo, while accepting induction into the podcast’s own Hall of Fame, reflected on their legacy, their 1990s departure, and a recently established “Legends deal.”
Hall of Fame Talk and Current Standing
Podcast host Ben veal believes a WWE Hall of Fame induction is imminent for the three-time Tag Team Champions. “It does feel certain that Demolition has to be inducted into the [WWE] Hall of Fame before much longer. I just,I just can’t see it not happening,” Veal stated.
Darsow confirmed this sentiment is widely shared by fans.He said the most frequent question they receive, aside from inquiries about their 1989 Royal Rumble match, is about a potential Hall of Fame induction. “That’s probably the number one thing we hear… ‘When are you going to get in the Hall of Fame?’ kind of a deal,” Darsow said.
Eadie indicated their relationship with WWE has improved after years of distance. “Hopefully our new relationship with them will be better, and so far, it has been,” Eadie said. “So bygones be bygones. Let’s start fresh.”
Remembering Their Dominance
Demolition’s run in the late 1980s cemented their place as one of wrestling’s most dominant teams. Eadie explained the origins of their signature look and persona. ”Randy [Colley] had come up with the idea, and I think it was basically from the Mad Max series,” Eadie recalled.
The initial pairing with Colley didn’t last, as he was already known as Moondog Rex. Though, eadie and Darsow quickly found chemistry. “We clicked probably the second match we had,” Eadie said. “Neither one of us worried about who was the strongest and who was getting over the most, it was the team first.”
Darsow agreed, emphasizing the selfless nature of their partnership. “It was the team first,” Eadie reiterated. Darsow added, “I gotta say…”
