Following ⁤a two-hour outage on social media ⁢platform X, Elon Musk said he plans to dedicate more time to his various companies. The outage occurred Saturday, leading Musk to acknowledge the need for⁣ “major operational improvements.”

Musk’s statement echoes earlier remarks ⁤about reducing his role in President Donald Trump’s administration. He has been advising Trump on slashing federal spending.

The billionaire juggles responsibilities as owner/CEO of X, xAI (developer of Grok), Tesla, and SpaceX. Despite contributing ‍over $235⁣ million to Trump’s campaign, Musk’s focus appears ⁢to‍ be shifting back to his core businesses.

“As evidenced by the X uptime issues this week, major operational⁤ improvements need ⁣to be made,” Musk stated. “The failover redundancy should have worked, but did not.” X service was largely restored by 11:00 a.m. US ⁢Eastern time Saturday.

the SITE Intelligence Group reported that hacker-activist group DieNet claimed duty for the outage, calling it a test of their Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) capabilities.

“Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms,” Musk posted on X.

Musk added, ⁢”I must be super focused ⁤on X/xAI and Tesla (plus Starship launch next week), as we have⁣ critical⁤ technologies rolling out.”
