summer Game Fest (SGF) 2025, the premier gaming event, is underway, featuring a diverse lineup of AAA and indie titles. Running from June 3-9, SGF 2025 includes 15 events, offering a mix of game previews, interviews, and new trailers. Here are some of the biggest announcements so far.
Epic Games kicked off SGF with its annual Unreal Fest conference in Orlando, Florida. The highlight was the state of Unreal presentation, which included updates on fortnite and CD PROJEKT RED’s The Witcher IV. A tech demo for Unreal Engine 5.6, played on a base PS5, showcased a detailed world with advanced foliage rendering. epic also announced that Fortnite creators will soon be able to implement their own AI NPCs.
Sony’s State of Play presentation revealed a packed lineup of over 20 games and a surprise hardware announcement. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a new tag fighter developed by Arc System Works, was a major highlight. The game, slated for release on PS5 and PC in 2026, features Marvel superheroes with anime visuals in 4-versus-4 battles. Sony also unveiled Project Defiant, a wireless fight stick supporting PS5 and PC, also arriving in 2026.
Release dates were announced for several titles, including Sword of the Sea (August 19), Baby steps (September 8), and Silent Hill f (September 25). A final Fantasy Tactics remaster is expected on September 30, while Capcom’s Pragmata received an aspirational “2026” release window.
Friday’s Summer Game Fest Live stream featured the announcement of Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth main installment in the series. The game promises a tonal shift from Resident Evil Village.Sega studio ryu Ga Gotoku revealed that Project Century is now called Stranger Than Heaven, a 1943 take on the Yakuza series.
Sequels to mid-sized games, such as Atomic Heart, Code Vein, and Mortal Shell, were also announced.
