Xiaomi has expanded its hardware ecosystem with the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 series and a suite of new wearables, and accessories. The rollout, centered around the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, introduces the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones, alongside the Xiaomi Watch 5, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, and the company’s first tracking device, the Xiaomi Tag.

The Xiaomi 17 series is co-engineered with Leica and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, which utilizes a 3nm process. The standard Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED display and a 50-megapixel camera. For users prioritizing power and durability, the devices are equipped with a 6500mAh battery supporting 100W HyperCharge and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is positioned as a high-end photography tool, designed to capture night moments and featuring significant zoom capabilities.

Xiaomi Watch 5 and Wearable Integration

The Xiaomi Watch 5, which first launched in China in December 2025, became available globally on February 28, 2026. The smartwatch is housed in a stainless steel frame and features a 1.54-inch AMOLED display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip and runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.

A primary technical upgrade for the Watch 5 is its 930mAh silicon-carbon battery, which provides a significant increase in capacity compared to the 2024 Watch S4, which had a battery half that size. The device also introduces expanded health tracking capabilities, including an EMG sensor and an ECG heart rate sensor, as well as support for specific wrist gestures.

Tablet and Ecosystem Expansions

Xiaomi also introduced the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, a high-performance tablet powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. The device is equipped with a 3.2K 144Hz crystal-clear display, targeting users who require top-tier performance for productivity and media consumption.

Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro – Most Affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite Tablet?

The company has further diversified its accessory lineup with several new products:

  • Xiaomi Tag: A white, puck-shaped tracking device designed for keys and other small items. Notably, the device is compatible with Apple’s Find My network, though it does not support Apple’s Precision Tracking.
  • Redmi Buds 8 Pro: A new iteration of the company’s earbud lineup.
  • Xiaomi AI Glasses and Xiaomi Vision GT: Both devices debuted at MWC 2026, signaling an expansion into augmented reality and smart eyewear.

HyperOS 3 Software Framework

Tying these hardware releases together is HyperOS 3. The updated operating system is designed to enhance the user experience and provide seamless smart connectivity across the Xiaomi ecosystem, from the Xiaomi 17 smartphones to the Watch 5 and the Pad 8 Pro.
