What Happened: Xiaomi’s Global Smart Home Push
Xiaomi has revealed its global ambitions for its smart home business, with the Chinese tech giant announcing the launch of its first wave of Mijia major appliances outside of china.
The launch, which was part of a wider declaration at an event in Munich this week, includes the mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco Series, Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 9kg, and the hefty Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L.
Xiaomi has been selling white goods in China since 2013, quietly becoming a heavyweight in its homeland.
In Q1 2025, shipments of its air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines each grew more than 65% year-on-year, helping the brand secure fourth place in all three categories.
Now, for the first time, Xiaomi is all set to push that momentum abroad.

The “Human × Car × Home” Strategy
“This launch is a vital milestone in expanding our Human × Car × Home strategy into global markets,” Angus Ng, xiaomi’s Director of International Communications told me.
“It brings ‘Home’ into the international mix and shows how our ecosystem translates beyond phones,” he added.
The Role of AI: From Connected to adaptive
this being 2025, of course there’s an AI-angle to launch, with Ng telling me that the company wants to move beyond “connected” and into “adaptive.”
“AI plays a central role in redefining the user experience across our appliances,” he explained.
Ng explained how the Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco, for example, personalizes its user settings by using advanced algorithms to learn user preferences and automatically adjust cooling or heating settings based on daily habits and real-time environmental sensing.
