liu Jiaxing,a 34-year-old tech worker,visited Xiaomi’s flagship showroom in Beijing,expressing admiration for the YU7’s design and color. He also noted the seamless integration of Xiaomi vehicles with the company’s other products, suggesting a better understanding of Chinese consumers compared to foreign brands.
“I used to be more prone to U.S., German, and French car marques, but the fast progress of China’s EV sector prompts me to focus more on the products rather than brands,” Liu said.
Tom van dillen, managing partner at Greenkern, a German management consultancy in Beijing, viewed the YU7 as a strong contender to the Model Y, despite finding some of its intelligent features ”unnecessary.” He highlighted Xiaomi’s “physical ecosystem advantage” within its showrooms and the competitive pricing.
xiaomi plans to announce the YU7’s pricing in July. HSBC Qianhai estimates the SUV will range from 230,000 yuan to 330,000 yuan ($31,989-$45,898). They project Xiaomi could ship 100,000 YU7 units this year and 249,000 in 2026.
