Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K90 Max, a performance smartphone featuring a built-in cooling fan designed specifically for mobile gaming and sustained high-performance tasks. The device was introduced in China on April 21, 2026, as part of the company’s K90 series expansion.
The Redmi K90 Max is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, paired with an AI D2 discrete gaming GPU. Memory configurations range from 12GB to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, with storage options up to 1TB using UFS 4.1 technology. This hardware combination delivers the processing power needed for demanding applications and high-end mobile games.
The smartphone’s most distinctive feature is its integrated active cooling system. An 18.1mm fan uses a sealed air duct design with vortex airflow, generating 0.42 CFM of airflow—reportedly 1.3 times higher than competing devices. Xiaomi claims this system can reduce temperatures by 10°C within 100 seconds under heavy loads. The fan operates in three modes with maximum noise levels of 32dB, keeping it relatively quiet during operation.
Display quality matches the performance focus with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel. Key specifications include a 165Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming, 3500Hz touch sampling rate for responsive input, 3500 nits peak brightness for outdoor visibility, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, and 12-bit color depth for accurate color reproduction.
The camera system prioritizes practicality over flagship-level photography. The rear setup includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Video recording supports up to 8K resolution. For selfies and video calls, the device houses a 20-megapixel front camera.
To power the device, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi K90 Max with a massive 8,550mAh battery. The smartphone supports 100W wired fast charging, and 22.5W reverse wired charging. It also includes bypass charging support. The software side is covered by Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 on top.
The Redmi K90 Max comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The device is available in multiple colors and configurations, targeting gamers and power users who need sustained performance without thermal throttling.
