Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Challenges Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7
Xiaomi unveiled its Mix flip 2 in China on June 26, intensifying competition in the foldable smartphone market. The new foldable smartphone boasts the largest battery in its class, signaling Xiaomi’s intent to challenge Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7, expected to be revealed July 9 at the Samsung Unpacked conference.
Building upon the original Xiaomi Mix Flip, the Mix Flip 2 features a redesigned 3.5-inch external screen optimized for over 500 apps, including photo imports and travel bookings, according to xiaomi.The xiaomi Mix Flip 2 measures 86.13 x 73.8 x 15.87 mm when closed,a slight departure from its predecessor’s square form factor (74 x 74 x 16 mm). This change accommodates a display ratio better suited for application use. The internal screen is a 6.86-inch AMOLED display with a 2912 x 1224-pixel resolution and a peak brightness of 3200 nits.
Available in white, purple, green, and gold, each with a checkerboard pattern, the Xiaomi smartphone weighs 199g, slightly heavier than the previous model’s 192g.It lacks an IP rating for water and dust resistance.
internally, the Mix Flip 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM. The device also features a substantial 5165 mAh battery, an upgrade from the Mix Flip’s 4780 mAh. It supports 67-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging.
The camera setup includes two 50-megapixel lenses. The wide-angle lens (f/1.7) is accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.2), replacing the telephoto lens found in the previous model.
Currently, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is only available in China. The mix Flip was released in Europe last year, and North American availability is expected through third-party sellers.
