Possible Chipset Shift
Xring Instead of Snapdragon?
The design is expected to resemble the existing Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro models. However, a notable internal change is possible. Some reports indicate Xiaomi might use its own XRING chipset instead of qualcomm processors.
If confirmed, this would be a major step for Xiaomi, perhaps placing them alongside Apple, Samsung, and Google as manufacturers less reliant on external processor suppliers. The performance of the XRING chip remains unknown. Questions remain about its ability to compete with top Snapdragon processors in performance and energy efficiency, and whether Xiaomi can optimize software as effectively as its competitors. These uncertainties make the potential debut of Xiaomi’s own chip intriguing.
However, a more plausible scenario involves using the current Snapdragon 8 Elite, which powers other xiaomi 15 series devices.
