Immersive Cultural Experience
The Artillery Barracks in Murcia,Spain, was recently transformed into an open-air cultural space hosting the ”xmas Party - The Secret Party,” a unique event blending electronic music and digital art. The inaugural event, held in collaboration with the Murcia City Council’s Department of Culture and Identity, directed by Diego Avilés, and the Municipal Board of the El Carmen district, aimed to create a shared sensory experience through light, sound, and architecture.
Organizers describe the event as an immersive outdoor artistic installation, attracting a diverse audience and establishing itself as a highlight of the city’s Christmas programming. Suricatta promoted the event.
A Fusion of Music and Visuals
The first installment of the XMas Party featured a “boiler Room” style musical setup, placing the audience directly around the DJs for an intimate experience. The lineup included Fina, Elko, Cinema Paradisco, and Quetglas. Complementing the music was a visual spectacle developed by Music Event Gear, Acusticox, and Haz Media.
This visual component included monumental videomapping projected onto the Water Reservoir tower, alongside lighting installations, digital projections, and architectural interventions. A dedicated chill-out area, furnished with grass, cushions, decorative lighting, and food and beverage options, provided a pleasant space for relaxation and socializing.
Second Event Details
Following the success of the first event, a second and final XMas Party is scheduled for January 3, 2024, at the same location and time (4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.). This event will showcase a different selection of Murcian artists, including Black&Decker, Zurdo & Cobarro, Jeff Mental, and Disko Duro, offering a varied electronic music experience.
The project receives sponsorship from the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts (ICA), Link&Co, and Wakamono, supporting its expansion and impact on the local cultural scene.
