Xpeng Launches Hybrid SUV with 1,600+ Kilometer Range
Xpeng Motors is tackling “range anxiety” wiht a new hybrid G7 SUV boasting a combined range exceeding 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers). The chinese electric vehicle maker unveiled the vehicle this week, offering it alongside a fully electric G7 model at the same price point.
The hybrid G7 combines battery power with a small gasoline engine that acts as a generator to recharge the battery.Xpeng claims this setup allows for travel distances comparable to a cross-country drive from Seattle to Los Angeles.The company also updated its P7+ sedan, increasing its range to 961 miles (1,548 kilometers) on a single charge.
Xpeng’s move into hybrid vehicles adn expansion into global markets reflects a strategic response to uneven charging infrastructure and growing international demand. The company is betting that offering both electric and hybrid options will appeal to a wider range of consumers.
Pricing for both the hybrid and fully electric G7 models remains consistent,offering consumers a choice based on their driving needs and access to charging stations.
