Yara El-Sokkary Sparks Romance Rumors With Ahmed El-Awady

Egyptian actor Ahmed El-Awady and actress Yara El-Sokary appeared together at a panel discussion during the Arab Media Summit in Dubai, where El-Sokary addressed widespread public speculation regarding romantic chemistry between television co-stars, according to regional entertainment reporting.

Moderated by Lebanese television host Neischan, the panel session titled “A New Era in Arab Drama Production” featured the two actors discussing their recent on-screen collaborations, according to coverage from Khabr Abyad. During the discussion, Neischan posed a direct question to the actors concerning a reported personal relationship between them, prompting El-Sokary to state that most successful television duos reflect genuine feelings in reality, as reported by Masrawy.

The majority of the duos we see on television since we were young actually had something real between them, El-Sokary said during the panel, according to Masrawy.

Following the remark, Neischan offered public congratulations to the pair in front of the audience, while attendees responded with applause, according to Masrawy and Khabr Abyad. Collaboration on Ali Clay and Upcoming Projects

The professional association between El-Awady and El-Sokary began on the set of the television series Ali Clay, which aired during the Ramadan 2026 drama season, according to Masrawy. The 30-episode series was written by Mahmoud Hamdan, directed by Mohamed Abdel-Salam, and featured an ensemble cast including Dorra, Tarek Desouky, Essam El-Sakka, Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, and Entesar, as reported by Khabr Abyad.

Reflecting on the opportunity during the Dubai summit, El-Sokary noted that El-Awady’s initial creative vision provided her with a major career opening, while emphasizing that professional longevity depends on an actor’s individual performance, according to Masrawy.

At first, star Ahmed El-Awady’s vision is what gave me the big opportunity, that’s for sure, but the opportunity comes to you once, and if you can’t prove yourself in it, it doesn’t give you continuity, El-Sokary stated, according to Masrawy.

Building on their previous television success, El-Sokary recently signed on to star in the upcoming series Sultan El-Deeb, slated to star El-Awady for the Ramadan 2027 drama season, according to Khabr Abyad. The new project reunites the writer Mahmoud Hamdan and director Mohamed Abdel-Salam, with reports indicating the two actors will portray romantic counterparts named Ali and Rouh, continuing the dynamic established in their previous collaboration.
