National Weather Service Issues Yellow Alert for Sunday, November 17

The National Weather Service (SMN) has issued a yellow alert for storms, rain, and winds on Sunday, November 17. A yellow alert indicates possible weather phenomena that may cause damage and disrupt daily activities.

Storm Alerts

This alert affects the northwest, northern La Pampa, southern Santa Fe, eastern Formosa, central Salta, and eastern Jujuy. Additionally, the entirety of Chaco, Corrientes, Tucumán, and Catamarca will also experience these weather conditions. The area will face storms, some of which may be locally severe. Expect frequent lightning, occasional hail, heavy rain in short periods, and strong gusts of wind. Rainfall totals can reach between 20 to 40 mm, with local amounts possibly exceeding this range.

Wind Alerts

The yellow alert for strong winds applies to all of Santa Cruz and parts of Buenos Aires province. Winds will come from the southeast at speeds of 25 to 50 km/h, with gusts up to 80 km/h. In the southern regions, gusts may exceed 100 km/h.
