Weather Alert in Argentina for November 18

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued a yellow alert for storms in several provinces in northern Argentina on November 18. A yellow alert for winds is also in effect for some areas in Patagonia.

Yellow Alert for Storms

The following regions will experience a yellow alert for storms:

  • Southern Jujuy (morning)
  • Central and northern Salta (early morning and morning)
  • Formosa (early morning and morning)
  • Chaco (early morning and morning)
  • Northern and central Santiago del Estero (morning)
  • Northeastern Santa Fe (early morning and morning)
  • Western Misiones (morning)

These areas will likely face strong storms. The storms may include frequent lightning, hail, heavy rain in a short time, and intense gusts of wind.

Yellow Alert for Winds

A yellow alert for winds is also in place for the coastal area of Santa Cruz on the evening of November 18. Winds from the north are expected to reach speeds of 50 to 70 km/h, with gusts up to 90 km/h.
