September 27, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor News

The Israeli army announced that early on Friday, a missile had been fired from Yemen towards the center, with warning sirens sounding, noting that the interception had caused explosions and shrapnel.

“The sirens that sounded in several areas of central Israel were the result of a missile launched from Yemen,” the army said in a series of statements, stressing that “the missile was successfully intercepted by the Tir (Tir) air defense system.”

He added that the intercepted missile was a “surface-to-surface missile.”

The army confirmed that there is “no change in instructions on the medical front at present” after the interception of the missile.

Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath correspondent reported a large missile attack towards Tel Aviv and sounds were heard in Jerusalem.

He also indicated that at least two missiles were intercepted at Tel Aviv using the Arrow system.

Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath sources reported that 3 missiles were fired at Tel Aviv from Yemen.

220 Hezbollah targets

Also, the Israeli military said Thursday that its air force had bombed about 220 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon over the past day.

He added that the targets included infrastructure sites and platforms from which missiles were fired at Israel, members of the Hezbollah group and weapons storage facilities in Lebanon.

“We continue to work to reduce and destroy Hezbollah’s capabilities and infrastructure,” he added.

new campaign

The Israeli army said that on Thursday evening, it launched new airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, after Tel Aviv rejected a 21-day ceasefire proposal with Hezbollah, notably the United States.

The Israeli military said in a statement that it was “currently conducting strikes against Hezbollah terrorist targets in southern Lebanon.”

Lebanon’s health ministry announced Thursday that 92 people were killed and 153 wounded in Israeli operations in the past 24 hours, an unprecedented increase since the exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah began nearly a year ago.

The ministry said in a separate statement that 14 people were killed and 38 wounded in Israeli operations over the past 24 hours in the southern governorate, and 26 people were killed and 42 wounded in Nabatih governorate, located in southern Lebanon.

It also added that the operation in the town of Bekaa (east) left 23 dead and 30 wounded, and Baalbek-Harmel governorate (east) 25 dead and 14 wounded.

The ministry indicated that four people were killed and 29 wounded in Mount Lebanon Governorate (Middle East) as a result of the operation.

Since Monday, violent Israeli operations have mainly targeted southern and eastern Lebanon in a sharp escalation of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah since October 2023 against the backdrop of the war in the Gaza Strip.
