The Yeongdeok Upcycling Art Festa, held for the third year by the Yeongdeok Cultural Tourism Foundation with the theme of ‘Upcycling (an act of creating new added value for discarded items beyond recycling)’, will be held this year. Participants can receive posters from Yeongdeok Living Culture Center and Yeju Culture and Arts Center from Monday, September 2 to Friday, September 13, and submit them by drawing funny expressions on the posters. The first 300 people to participate will complete the posters, and the Yeongdeok Cultural Tourism Foundation will post them throughout Yeongdeok County. Visitors will vote for the most popular posters using the QR code on each poster, and 3 most popular winners will be selected. 10 winners will also be selected to receive local gift certificates (KRW 10,000). The selected most popular winners will be used in various promotional materials at the festival.

The Yeongdeok Upcycling Art Festival, which began in 2022, is a participatory festival in which most of the exhibited works are made by hand by Yeongdeok residents. This year, about 500 residents from about 20 local organizations, groups, villages, and schools have created upcycling works, which will be unveiled on the day of the festival. In addition, during the Yeongdeok Lifestyle Culture Week, which will be held during the same period as the 2024 Upcycling Art Festival, about 50 local organizations, schools, and lifestyle culture clubs, as well as about 30 clubs from other regions, will participate and put on a variety of performances.
