Yeungnam Doctors Bring Healing Hands to Yeongyang-gun

On November 5th, Yeungnam University Medical Center (Director Kim Jong-yeon) provided vital medical services through volunteer work in Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. A dedicated team of 13 individuals, including orthopedic, endocrinology and metabolism, and respiratory and allergy medicine doctors, a pharmacist, six nurses, and three administrative support personnel, diligently monitored the health of local residents throughout the day.
Director Kim Jong-yeon expressed his enthusiasm for the collaborative effort, stating, “We are delighted that excellent local medical institutions have united to make this meaningful event a success.” He further emphasized their commitment to providing accessible healthcare in underserved areas, contributing to the strengthening of public health care.
Yeungnam University Medical Center has a longstanding partnership with Yeongyang-gun, having signed a cooperative organization agreement in 2007. In 2008, they were selected as the first operator of a remote hospital for the ‘Remote Health Monitoring System Construction Project,’ further solidifying their commitment to providing healthcare solutions to the region. Currently, they are developing a telemedicine system for three departments: Respiratory Allergy, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Dermatology.
