Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, review of designation of monkey pox as a legal infectious disease

The government is considering designating monkey pox as a legal infectious disease.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention held a regular briefing today (31st), and yesterday (30th) held an Infectious Disease Crisis Management Special Committee to discuss countermeasures against monkey pox.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) will hold a crisis assessment meeting on the afternoon of the 31st to discuss domestic and international risk assessments and whether to declare a crisis stage.

So far, no cases of monkeypox infection have been found in Korea.
