On Wednesday, cities across the nation experienced temperatures typically seen in late May. Daegu reached 26.8 degrees Celsius (80.2 degrees Fahrenheit). Gyeongju and Gwangju,in the Gyeongbuk province,both exceeded 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). Seoul and other central regions saw temperatures climb above 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit).

Kang Dong-jin and Lee Gyu-beom, from the Dongdaemun-gu district, commented, “The weather was unpleasant on the weekend, but now it’s so good that the weather has improved a lot.”

The Korea Meteorological Administration anticipates temperatures will rise further on Thursday,with Daejeon and Jeonju possibly reaching 27 degrees Celsius (80.6 degrees Fahrenheit). forecasters say temperatures will remain 2-6 degrees Celsius (3.6-10.8 degrees Fahrenheit) higher than the average for this time of year, influenced by warm, humid southwest winds blowing along the edge of a high-pressure system.

Kim Dae-hoon, a forecaster with the Korea Meteorological Administration, warned of potential health risks. “The temperature difference between day and night will be very large, around 20 degrees Celsius (36 degrees Fahrenheit). Please note that you do not lose immunity due to jagged temperature changes,” Kim said.
