Though, a blistering century from Luke Jones ignited the Lancashire innings. Jones reached his ton off just 79 balls, peppering the boundary with seven sixes. Despite a mid-innings slowdown – Lancashire managing only 40 runs between the 25th and 35th overs - Jones’s aggressive knock kept the momentum alive. He eventually fell for a well-made 103, slicing White to deep cover.
Balderson continued the charge, striking a dynamic 70 off 48 balls, ensuring Lancashire finished strongly on 297-6. A minor talking point arose when replays suggested Balderson may have stepped on his off-stump during a pull shot for four off Dan Moriarty, but the umpires didn’t spot it.
