The General Coordinator of the Specialized Council for Economic Development, Dr. Hussein Issa, said that the communication with the members of the Council began after the issuance of the decision to reconstitute the Specialized Council for Economic Development affiliated with the Presidency of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. republic

Issa al-Shoruk said in a special statement that he was discussing the way to work with all members, even those living outside Egypt, for coordination and consultation to set the date of the first meeting to start work immediately.

Issa expressed his enthusiasm for this assignment from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, emphasizing the continued work to achieve the desired goals of the Council in the coming period.

New formation of specialized council for economic development

According to the new composition of the Specialized Economic Council for Economic Development issued by Presidential Decree No. 222 of 2024, former Chairman of the House of Representatives Planning and Budget Committee, Dr. Hussein Muhammad Ahmed Issa, will serve as the General Coordinator of the Council.

Among the members of the council. Yusuf Boutros Ghali, former finance minister. Honey Qadri Damian, former finance minister. Hossam El-Din Mohammed Abdel Quader, Engineer Ashraf Musa Sabri, Finance and Technology Expert, Dr. Engineer Mohamed Zaki Al-Suwaidi, Federation of Egyptian Industries and Karim Ali Awad Salama, Group Finance Hermes, Ahmed Atef Helmi Mohamed Wasif and Dr. Lamis Mohammed Khaled Shaban Al-Arabi.

The Specialized Council for Economic Development is responsible for studying and proposing general economic and productivity policies for the country in all areas, including strengthening and developing productive capacity and better utilization of available resources through scientific and technological methods and studying and proposing targeted scientific plans. To increase production, to maximize national economy and to provide production requirements and develop them in partnership with the private sector.

It also specializes in studying the location of labor and proposing general plans and programs for better utilization of human resources and increasing their productive efficiency, studying ways to remove any obstacles affecting the process of economic growth and proposing organizational and technological changes. It also specializes in foreign markets and the possibility of expanding Egyptian products to establish a strong economic base.

It is notable that this is the first new formation of the Specialized Council for Economic Development since 2015 when it was first formed.
