Tragic Accident: Drunk Driver Flees from YouTuber, Dies in Crash

A man in his 30s, who was being pursued by a YouTuber filming a drunk driver chase video, has died in a tragic accident.

According to police, the deceased man was driving an SUV when he crashed into a parked truck and caught fire. The incident occurred on a road in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju.

Witnesses described the scene as horrific, with the SUV completely burned and unrecognizable. “Completely burned, unrecognizable… to the point where you can’t even make out the model of the car…” said one witness.

Investigations revealed that the driver was fleeing from the YouTuber, known as the “Drunken Driving Hunter”, who was chasing him and questioning him for drunk driving. The YouTuber had reported the accident to the police and was claiming he suspected drunk driving.

However, police said that after checking CCTV cameras on the road, it was not confirmed that the YouTuber was closely following the vehicle shortly before the accident.

Police have begun investigating whether the deceased driver was drinking and speeding, as well as the YouTuber’s connection to the incident.

Cheon Hong-hee, a journalist from MBC News, reported on the incident. “I did it because I thought the vehicle involved in the accident was being driven under the influence… I think the driver made an attempt to avoid it.”

The incident raises questions about the role of citizen journalism and the pursuit of drunk drivers. While the YouTuber’s intentions may have been to prevent a potential accident, the outcome was tragic.

As the investigation continues, the community is left to mourn the loss of a young life and to reflect on the dangers of drunk driving.
