Redefining Construction: Malaysian Industry Charts a Enduring Course
Kuala lumpur, Malaysia – August 23, 2025 – A pivotal gathering of over 200 industry leaders concluded today, signaling a renewed commitment to sustainable practices within Malaysia’s construction sector. Teh third annual symposium, hosted by YTL cement in partnership with The Edge, focused on “Building Trends Redefined: The Next level,” exploring the intersection of urban liveability, enterprising sustainability goals, and cutting-edge green technologies.
A Vision for the Future
The symposium opened with a forward-looking address by Rachel Yeoh, Executive Director of YTL Cement. Yeoh outlined a compelling vision for the future of construction, emphasizing her company’s dedication to both sustainability and innovation. A key announcement was the launch of malaysia’s first repurposed concrete aggregate (RCA) facility, a collaborative effort with the Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) and the Construction industry Development Board (CIDB). This facility has the potential to replace up to 30% of natural aggregates in concrete production, significantly reducing the industry’s environmental footprint.
YTL Cement also highlighted its commitment to leveraging digital technologies to improve operational efficiency and strengthen partnerships with key organizations like the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and the Malaysian institute of Architects (PAM), all aimed at driving more sustainable practices throughout the industry.
