Yukon Announces 40% Tax Credit for Fertility Treatments in 2025

November 21, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor Health

The Government of Yukon plans to amend the Income Tax Act (Yukon) in the 2025 spring session of the Yukon Legislative Assembly.

This amendment will create a tax credit for fertility treatments. The tax credit will cover 40% of treatment costs, including surrogacy expenses. The maximum refund will be $10,000 per year, with no limit on the total lifetime claim. This will help individuals manage the costs of fertility treatments.

If the legislation passes, individuals can apply this tax credit to their 2025 tax return for eligible expenses incurred during 2024 and 2025.
