Supporting the Recovery of Noto Peninsula through Music
Yumi Matsutoya’s song “acacia” was released on YouTube on August 1st, featuring the Rokkozaki Lighthouse in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, in its music video.
“acacia” is a track from the album “acacia” released in 2001, written after being moved by the sight of the blooming acacia trees in Uchinada-machi, Kahoku-gun, Ishikawa Prefecture. The charity single “acacia” was released on May 29th, with all proceeds, minus expenses, being donated to the disaster-hit Ishikawa Prefecture in the Noto Peninsula earthquake disaster area.
The music video was created to support the recovery from the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1st, and to showcase the beautiful scenery of Noto. The story revolves around a boy who jumps out of a picture book and sets off on a journey, following the girl’s lead to places in Noto that hold special memories, until he arrives at a beautiful landscape he had forgotten.
