Last month, Kees, Yves Berendse’s vocal coach, passed away. The singer received vocal lessons from his coach several times a week for five years, and after his performance in The Masked Singer, the grief hits especially hard.”I was always incredibly jealous when Kees effortlessly hit the high note of Nessun Dorma.”
But he has now managed to do it himself. He shares a clip from The Masked Singer on his Instagram. “Too bad he never got to see this, but he would have been so proud,” he writes with it.

Last month, Yves announced that he had lost his vocal coach kees. He wrote an ode to him with a few photos over the years. “Dear kees,” Yves began the post. “One of the most special people I have ever met and someone who meant so much to me.”
The singer continued: “For over 5 years I saw you at least twice a week and how incredibly grateful I am for that now. You really taught me to sing and believed in my voice even before I did myself. Thank you for all yoru lessons, the conversations, patience and your faith. Rest in peace.”

Mariëlle Bekke Wins Season Seven of ‘The Masked Singer’ Netherlands
Singer Mariëlle Bekke, performing as the ‘Duif’ (Dove), won the seventh season of the Dutch reality singing competition ‘The Masked Singer’ on Friday, January 12, 2024. Bekke defeated three other finalists: Frans Duijts as ‘Leeuw’ (Lion), Kim-Lian van der Meij as ‘Eenhoorn’ (Unicorn),and Dave van der Wal as ‘Krokodil’ (Crocodile).
Competition Details & Voting
The final episode, broadcast on RTL 4, saw Bekke secure the victory with 33% of the vote. Frans Duijts, performing as the Lion, came in second with 28% of the votes. Kim-Lian van der Meij received 23%, and dave van der Wal garnered 16%. The voting was conducted by a studio audience and viewers at home.

Mariëlle Bekke is a Dutch singer who rose to prominence as a finalist on the first season of ‘The Voice of Holland’ in 2012. She finished in third place.
