Zach Arnett Enhances Florida State Coaching Staff as Analyst
Zach Arnett, formerly the head coach at Mississippi State, has joined the Florida State coaching staff as an analyst, bringing his defensive expertise to the Seminoles. arnett’s move marks another chapter in his college football career, which has seen him in various roles across the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and beyond.
Arnett’s recent experience includes a stint as an analyst at Ole Miss under head coach Lane Kiffin.Before that, he briefly accepted the defensive coordinator position at UNLV but resigned for personal reasons. His head coaching tenure at Mississippi State followed the passing of mike Leach in December 2022. after leading the Bulldogs to a ReliaQuest Bowl victory,Arnett took the reins full-time in 2023 but was fired after just 10 games with a 4-6 record.
A former linebacker himself at New Mexico, Arnett climbed the coaching ladder through defensive positions. He started as a graduate assistant at San Diego State, later becoming their linebackers coach and defensive coordinator. In 2020, Leach brought Arnett to Mississippi State as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.
At Florida State, Arnett will work alongside defensive coordinator Tony White, who previously coached him as a linebacker at New Mexico in 2008. His addition aims to bolster a Florida State defense that allowed 28 points per game last season,ranking 10th in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and 87th nationally. The Seminoles hope Arnett’s insights will lead to improved defensive performance this upcoming season.
