Zagazig Train Accident: 4 Dead and 47 Injured

Causes of the Train Accident Revealed
Informed sources announced that the cause of the Zagazig train collision has been identified, resulting in the death of 4 people and 47 injured in “Zagazig University, Ahrar and Obor” hospitals so far.
Eyewitness Account of the Accident
An eyewitness to the Jagajig train collision said that he was riding a motorcycle at the moment of the accident and felt an earthquake-like tremor, he saw bodies on the ground as a result of the collision.
Ministry of Health Statement
The Ministry of Health and Population revealed in a statement that the number of injured in the Zagazig train collision in Sharqia Governorate has reached 49, who have been transferred to Zagazig University Hospital, Al-Ahrar University Hospital and a private hospital.
Compensation for Victims
Chairman of the Financial Supervision Authority, Mohammad Farid, directed the insurance group against the risk of railway, metro and highway accidents to take necessary measures for speedy disbursement of compensation, insisting that the compensation value will be increased to 50,000 pounds.
Government Response to the Accident
The Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouli, tasked the Ministry of Social Solidarity with providing the necessary assistance and compensation to those affected by the accident. Lt. Gen. Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport, arrived at the scene of the train collision to learn the details of the accident.
Investigation into the Accident
The Public Prosecution ordered the formation of two committees to determine the cause of the collision of two trains. The first committee consists of special engineers from the Armed Forces Engineering Authority and the Military Advisory Office, while the second committee is from the Cairo Railway Authority.
